Piglittle Field, the carefully curated SANG for Amen Corner, is now open for public enjoyment. The recreational ground, developed by Bellway Homes for the benefit of residents progressed rapidly at the turn of the year, as you can see from this drone footage!
Work on the footpaths, signage and benches is now complete and in position, and the local wildlife have already been enjoying the pond, which drains and disperses storm water from the site. Access is currently through the A329M slip road, on the Wokingham side, but residents can look forward to an additional pedestrian footpath opening via London Road end of March.
Gary Hurley, the Bellway Homes project manager for the SANG, said: “Working on Piglittle Field has been a very rewarding project. Since we started the relandscaping in February 2017, the change has been dramatic and what was once a flat, tired piece of land is now a wonderfully varied amenity for local residents and dog-walkers. We’ve already noticed wildlife embracing the new semi-natural space and, with the pond, woodland trail and copse to explore, we’re confident that residents of Amen Corner will be delighted with the area.”
